Along the cliff edge, a small abandoned black shed with boarded windows was present. This would be a good location for our hostage to be taken to into our film. This would suggest the genre of our film well as the location would be considered scary if you was there against your will and alone. This would help create a more thrilling theme of kidnapping and connote a hostile as well as entrapped environment. In addition, being on the cliff edge connotes the isolated and desolate location, another convention of our chosen genre. There is also the added danger of if someone was to fall over the cliff edge, this ever impending threat may add to the thrill of the trailer as many people fear heights.
Leading up to the shed, the walkway was very narrow and windy, as shown below. Again I felt this would be suited for our trailer as the windy pathway could almost connote the protagonists emotions being flustered and unstable, as though panicking, possibly as the hostage is trying to escape her kidnapper. It is also on the edge of the cliff again, and so the fear of falling down and danger is suggested, themes within our narrative and that we'd like to create in our trailer. |

This abondedned ware house was a possible location we considered due to its isolated environment.
The abondedned warehouse could have created a scary and frightening atmosphere, possibly symbolising Becki's current feelings of fear in being kidnapped. However, again due to the safety issues of the building, such as the roof caving in, and the uncertainty of strength of the actual structure, for example the steps had eroded away very thin; it was too dangerous to film. In addition, it was financially impossible as we did not have the budget to pay for flights, accommodation etc in France, and could not expect actors to pay for this. |
